Renewal of SMRP and IAM Reciprocal Agreement 2025
The Institute of Asset Management (IAM), the international professional body for asset management professionals, and the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP), the global leader in maintenance and reliability, have announced the renewal of an agreement that allows SMRP and IAM members to access member-only benefits across both societies.
The agreement was signed 18 June 2025 at the IAM Global Conference by Dan Anderson, Vice Chair of SMRP, and Ursula Bryan, CEO of the IAM. Dan Anderson was presenting at and attending the IAM Global Conference in London as part of the close collaboration between IAM and SMRP.
“The collaboration between SMRP and IAM represents a powerful synergy—where SMRP’s strength in maintenance and reliability practices complements IAM’s strategic asset management frameworks. Together, we are fostering global alignment, enabling professionals to share expertise and drive value across the entire asset lifecycle. This partnership just makes sense, SMRP and IAM share common values and a commitment to providing exceptional benefits for our membership.” – Dan Anderson, Vice Chair of SMRP.
Erin Erickson, Executive Director at SMRP said “I’m excited to see SMRP and IAM continuing to build a strong global partnership. By renewing this MoU with IAM, we’re opening new doors for our members - more resources, more connections, and more ways to grow professionally on a global scale.”
The renewed agreement allows members of the IAM and SMRP to take full advantage of exclusive member benefits across both organizations. The benefits include educational resources, world-class metrics, presentations and discounts for certification exams and events such as the IAM Global Conference, the IAM North American Chapter Conference, the SMRP Annual Conference and SMRP Symposia. Members are also welcome to attend local meetings at IAM branches and SMRP chapters.
“The IAM is delighted to have renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SMRP. SMRP is known around the world as a leader in the maintenance and reliability profession, and this MoU provides IAM members access to SMRP’s extensive member resources, including the Body of Knowledge and their professional development resources,” said Ursula Bryan, IAM CEO. “We also look forward to further collaboration with SMRP to provide enhanced value to both sets of members and wider society.”
Shared membership benefits between IAM and SMRP are available immediately.
