Leon Erasmus, Principle Digital Consultant Cohesive Delivery
Leon has been working in the Asset Management field for 25 years and collaborates with leaders on Asset Management Systems and Innovation. He is a part-time lecturer at leading South African Universities and lead facilitator on TPM, Problem Solving and ISO 55000.
Leon has 30 years Industrial Engineering and management systems experience in various industries and projects, taking responsibility for multi discipline projects in the civil, mechanical and electrical design and construction management, foods and textiles facilities design and work methods analysis and operational research projects in the Mining, Utilities, Manufacturing and FMCG business sectors.
Leon is a qualified Industrial Engineer with a master’s degree in business (Operational Research focus), Certified Asset Management Practitioner, CAM Assessor and CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional).
Projects include Engineering, Mining, Utilities, Transport and Logistics, IT, Recruitment, FMCG and Manufacturing sectors.
Flippie Coetzee Manager, Services Cohesive Africa
Flippie Coetzee is a Manager in Asset Performance Services at Cohesive, bringing 22 years of expertise in asset management consulting. With extensive experience in leadership and project management roles across various asset management organizations, he excels in contextualizing the broader asset management system within companies, leading teams to achieve significant enhancements in physical asset portfolios.
Flippie began his career in 1993 as an Artisan Fitter & Turner and earned his Diploma in Asset Management from the University of Pretoria in 2002. Throughout his career, he has implemented numerous asset management systems, including MP2, SAP, JD Edwards, Onkey, and IBM Maximo. With over 78 implementations across various industries, he has developed a deep understanding of what drives successful asset management system implementations.
Accredited by the Institute of Asset Management (IAM), Flippie has conducted various GAP analyses and ISO 55000 Surveillance Audits. Known for his results-oriented approach, he focuses on actions that enhance overall business performance. He emphasizes the importance of planning and adopts a structured, logical approach to improvement initiatives.
S’Bongiseni (S’Bo) Zulu, Senior Digital Consultant Cohesive Delivery
S’Bongiseni (S’Bo) Zulu is a Senior Digital Consultant at Cohesive and a member of World Partners in Asset Management (WPiAM), South African Asset Management Association (SAAMA). He holds a BSc (Eng) in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and a BSc (Hons) in Mechanics with a specialization in Physical Asset Management. In addition, he is a Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA), a Certified Technical Specialist in Asset Management (CTAM), and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. As an active member of WPiAM and SAAMA, and in his current role as Senior Digital Consultant at Cohesive, S’Bongiseni is dedicated to advancing best practices and driving innovation in asset management.
S’Bongiseni Zulu is an experienced Senior Asset Management Consultant with nine years of expertise in delivering strategic and technical solutions across asset management, reliability engineering, municipal asset management and digital maintenance systems. His core competencies include ISO 55001 compliance, lifecycle cost analysis, and the design and implementation of asset management and maintenance management systems for large-scale public infrastructure and energy projects.
S’Bo has worked on and managed projects for prominent organizations such as Eskom, DBSA, SABC, the Department of Public Works, the Gauteng Department of Transport, Assmang Mines, SABN and numerous other prominent clients and utilities.
Andrew Carrie | Director, Enterprise Asset Management Cohesive Delivery
Responsible for advisory services across the full EAM lifecycle, Andrew has been pivotal to our work with major organisations such as Stena Drilling, for whom we are currently implementing the Maximo Application Suite & Asset Management practises.
Enterprise Asset Management has been the backbone of Andrew’s career, enabling organizations to optimize asset performance, reduce downtime, and enhance operational efficiency.
He has an in-depth knowledge of both the 'how' – how to maintain, monitor, and manage assets effectively to maximize their lifecycle value – and the ‘why’ – why certain assets are critical and their strategic importance.
Andrew, a qualified mechanical and manufacturing engineer, started his career as a marine engineer in the British Merchant Navy. He brings from that period valuable operational experience.
Trevor Roberts, Regional Director, Africa & Spain – Cohesive Solutions
Trevor is an electronic engineer and asset management specialist with over four decades of experience in systems engineering, IT, supply chain, operational optimisation and business leadership. He has led major initiatives across the military, industrial, and utility sectors.
As Regional Director at Cohesive Solutions, Trevor collaborates with global partners to deliver integrated solutions in asset, service, and facilities management. His expertise includes Asset Management Strategy, Life-Cycle Management, and Operations Integration—positioning him as a leading voice in the evolution of asset management practices.
Bouke Spoelstra, Senior Sales Manager, Cohesive Africa
As Senior Sales Manager for Cohesive, Bouke oversees business development initiatives across Africa, leveraging more than three decades of expertise in asset performance optimisation to deliver measurable value to clients. His career began in the heavy steel manufacturing sector as a maintenance and development engineer before transitioning into consulting. There, he pioneered the adaptation of Military Logistic Support Analysis principles for maintenance optimisation within the commercial industry. These methodologies were subsequently refined to facilitate successful Enterprise Asset Management System implementations and improvement projects.
He works with organisations to enhance their operations by utilising the latest technological developments, including AI and Predictive Maintenance for overall Asset Performance Management improvement.
Nicholas Kanyamala: Engineering Manager Mkwawa Leaf Tobacco
Nicholas Kanyamala is an Engineering Manager with more than 20 years of experience in operational management, maintenance optimization, and project management within Fast-Moving Consumer Goods sectors, including sugar and tobacco processing industries.
He currently oversees the Engineering Department at Mkwawa Leaf Tobacco. In this role, he led the implementation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), shifting maintenance approaches from reactive to proactive and data-based practices. This has contributed to improvements in maintenance planning, asset reliability, and operational efficiency.
Nicholas started his career as a Maintenance Planner, where he established processes for asset management and strategic maintenance planning during a period when CMMS was being introduced in Tanzania. He later became a Brewing & Utilities Engineer, focusing on utility optimization, leading maintenance projects, and supporting brewing operations. Subsequently, Nicholas held the positions of Brewing Manager and Plant Manager, managing brewing and overall factory operations, and aligning maintenance and production strategies to meet performance objectives before joining Mkwawa Leaf Tobacco.
Prof. Eng. Henry Mwanaki Alinaitwe
Prof. Eng. Henry Mwanaki Alinaitwe is the Chairman of the Engineers’ Registration Board. He is a Professor of Civil Engineering at Makerere University. He has previously served as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Principal, Deputy Principal, Dean, Deputy Dean, at the same University.
Henry is a Fellow of Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers; Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK); and a Fellow of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences.
Henry has a PhD in Engineering (Lund, Sweden), Licentiate degree in Engineering (Lund, Sweden), MSc in Construction Management (Loughborough University, UK), Master of Business Administration (University of East London), Master of Engineering Studies in Civil Engineering Structures (The University of Sydney, Australia), Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil option) (Makerere University, Uganda). Henry has wide experience in the design and supervision of civil engineering infrastructure including buildings, roads, railways, dams and water works.
Henry has served on a number of Councils, Boards and Management Committees notably Kiira Motors Corporation, Uganda National Council for Science and Technology, Mulago National Referral Hospital, Makerere University, Kyogo Senior Secondary School and others.
Eng. Horace Muhamya
Eng. Horace Muhamya is a dynamic infrastructure professional and public sector leader with a strong track record in engineering, asset management, and water service delivery. As the Founding President of the IAM Uganda Chapter, the first IAM Chapter on the African continent, he is spearheading a national movement toward sustainable and value-driven asset management practices.
Horace holds a BSc in Civil and Environmental Engineering, an MBA, an MSc in Environment and Natural Resources, and a Masters in Public Infrastructure Management. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a registered engineer with the Engineers Registration Board of Uganda. He is currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on water service delivery and infrastructure sustainability.
With nearly a decade of experience in Uganda’s water utility sector, Horace has played a pivotal role in strengthening infrastructure governance and operational excellence through his work at the Ministry of Water and Environment – South Western Umbrella of Water and Sanitation (SWUWS), where he leads key initiatives that advance structured asset management.
He is an alumnus of the Young Expert Programme (WaterWorX) and the Knowledge Co-Creation Program in Japan (JICA), both of which reflect his strong commitment to international collaboration, professional growth, and global best practice exchange.
Horace remains passionate about empowering institutions and individuals to make informed, lifecycle-based infrastructure decisions that improve service delivery, sustainability, and long-term value in Uganda and globally.
Mrs. Ssanyu Kaganzi
Mrs. Ssanyu Kaganzi is a passionate advocate for asset management excellence in Uganda and the wider region. She is a driving force behind efforts to shift organizations in Uganda from reactive to proactive asset management practices.
As a Director at Asset Business Solutions and its current CEO, she brings over 17 years of experience in asset management consulting and strategic leadership. Her leadership is marked by her commitment to helping organizations optimize the performance and sustainability of their assets through structured, standards-based approaches.
Ssanyu is an Electrical Engineer from Makerere University, and she is a member of the Institute of Asset Management (UK), holds qualifications from the same. Ssanyu is a pioneer beneficiary of IAM UK’s Edwards Bursary and is a certified ISO 55001 Provisional Implementer.
Her voice has reached global platforms, including the IAM Annual Conference in 2020 and 2021, where she presented on climate change response strategies in East Africa—demonstrating her passion to foster sustainability.
Beyond her professional work, Ssanyu is a born-again Christian, wife, and mother of four biological children. She is deeply devoted to mentoring young people, empowering them to grow holistically and realize their God-given potential.
Eng. Bujure Moses Godfrey
Eng. Bujure Moses Godfrey is a seasoned Civil Engineer with over 18 years of progressive experience in the planning, delivery, and management of water supply and wastewater services in Uganda. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a Master of Science in Water and Sanitation, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management.
Throughout his career, Eng. Bujure has been a vocal advocate for structured asset management as a strategic tool for enhancing infrastructure sustainability and improving service delivery. His commitment to advancing asset-based planning, preventive maintenance, and data-driven decision-making has positioned him as a leading figure in Uganda’s water and sanitation sector.
He has served as Utility Manager for three of the country’s regional Umbrella Authorities Central, Eastern, and South Western Umbrellas of Water and Sanitation where he led technical operations, optimized service delivery models, and nurtured cross-functional teams. He serves as a Principal Engineer at the Ministry of Water and Environment, and also holds the critical position of National Coordinator for the Umbrella Utilities, responsible for harmonizing performance, guiding policy alignment, and supporting regional utility transformation.
Beyond his national role, Eng. Bujure actively leads and contributes to multi-sectoral project teams, focusing on infrastructure development, climate resilience, and institutional strengthening. His ability to bridge technical implementation with strategic oversight continues to shape national approaches to asset sustainability and service quality.
Dr. Eng. Harrison E. Mutikanga
Dr. Eng. Harrison E. Mutikanga is a seasoned civil engineer and researcher with over 30 years of experience in water and energy utility management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Makerere University (Uganda), a Master’s degree from IHE Delft, and a PhD from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands).
He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL), where he has championed the implementation, operation, and maintenance (asset management) of Uganda’s major hydropower plants. Under his leadership, UEGCL has institutionalized lifecycle asset management practices to enhance reliability, sustainability, and value generation from public infrastructure investments.
Dr. Mutikanga is a research-active professional with more than 15 publications in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, focusing on water resources, utility management, and hydropower infrastructure. He is also the Vice President of the Uganda National Committee on Large Dams (UCOLD) and an active Member of the Engineers Registration Board (ERB), contributing to engineering regulation and professional development in Uganda.
Eng. Dr. Isaac Mutenyo
Eng. Dr. Isaac Mutenyo works as the Program Coordinator of the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development Program (USMID) at the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development. USMID is a flagship national Program funded by the World Bank that has been reconstructing and upgrading urban infrastructure in the secondary Cities, Municipalities and Refugee Hosting Districts in Uganda since 2014.
He is Chairman Emeritus of the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Uganda. He is also a past President of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE). He has previously worked for the World Bank and as a lecturer at Kyambogo University among other engagements.
He is a civil engineer by training and is passionate about the advancement of the engineering practice.
Christophe Carmon
EACOP UGANDA EACOP Field ManagerChristophe joined TotalEnergies 28 years ago, starting his career in 1997 as a field operator in France. After several years of shift work, he moved to Saudi Arabia in
2012. Christophe returned to France in 2014 and worked in Maintenance for four years, before leaving for Belgium, to take over as Head of Polypropylene
Production site. Then he moved to Qatar in 2022 as Industrial Coordinator for Oil and Gas JV’s.
He has been EACOP Field Manager and Operation Deputy Director since July 2025.
Merian AHABWE
National Content Manager, EACOP LtdMerian AHABWE is a member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply chain management (MCIPS-UK), with over 11 years in Procurement and Supply chain management.
She holds a postgraduate diploma in procurement and supply chain management, from Uganda Management Institute, and a bachelor's degree in commerce majoring in Finance & Accounting from Makerere university,
and currently finalizing her Masters degree in Oil, Gas & Energy.
Merian has led Procurement teams at Hima Cement Ltd, Crown Beverages Ltd, Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda Ltd (CCBU), Watoto Church
and now serves as the National Content Manager of EACOP in Uganda.
Dr Jemiah Connie Akiror
Dr. Jemimah Connie Akiror is the Manager of Asset Management at Uganda Electricity Generation Company Ltd, where she leads the development and implementation of the company's asset management policy and strategy. With a PhD in Electrical Engineering and a Diploma in Asset Management from the IAM, she bridges deep technical expertise with strategic business leadership. Her career spans the design,installation, commissioning, and maintenance of major assets like the 600 MW Karuma Hydropower Plant, as well as pioneering research with several published papers. Dr. Akiror is an active contributor to the global industry standards through her work with IEEE, CIGRE, and CEATI, focusing on the economic evaluation and life-cycle management of critical power generation assets.
Elisha Mbije
Elisha Mbije is a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer with six years of experience specializing in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, and Telecommunications Engineering. Currently serving as Maintenance Engineer at Mkwawa Leaf Tobacco Company Limited, Elisha leads the Maintenance Planning Section, driving asset reliability, optimizing maintenance strategies, and implementing digital systems for sustainable, data-driven operations.
Previously, Elisha held roles at Tanzania Breweries Limited (AB InBev), advancing from Machine Operator to Maintenance Planner and Acting Unit Production Manager. In these positions, Elisha enhanced packaging line performance, introduced preventive maintenance systems, and fostered autonomous production and maintenance teams.
Elisha’s core competencies include maintenance strategy development, CMMS implementation, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and project management. Committed to continuous improvement and data-driven maintenance, Elisha bridges technology and teamwork to achieve operational excellence in manufacturing environments.
