IAM Canada: Calgary Branch Update

Inaugural Event

In June we launched our branch with a very successful inaugural meeting and networking event at the Bank and Barron in Calgary. At that event we heard about the IAM and benefits of membership, information available through the knowledge base, and qualifications opportunities. We also heard about the progress of TC 251, the committee working on updates, improvements and additions to the ISO 5500x suite of documents.

The Big Picture 

The October seminar introduced The Big Picture and had some discussion of how the big picture applies in our own organizations followed by a presentation about turnaround of the Lloydminster Upgrader through improved asset management. Find out more and watch the Big Picture video:

Event Survey 

In 2020 we would like to explore more experiences with asset management and share learning through further seminars. We recognize that the timing, venue and location are important factors that influence whether you are able to attend and support these events and would appreciate if you could provide some feedback through this brief survey.

Call for Volunteers and Speakers 

We rely on the support of our members and we would really appreciate hearing from anyone that:

• would like to be more involved in the committee and planning of future events.
• has a story to tell and wants to share with the asset management community in Calgary through a presentation or workshop.

IAM North American Conference 2020

Don't forget that the 2020 North American conference is in Denver in Colorado in October. More details to follow in the new year - watch this space.
