Name: Toby Kizner
Organization: AMCL
Location: USA
Candidate Statement:
As a member of our small and specialized industry, I understand the value of community. The IAM fosters this community by providing a forum for thought leadership and guidance as well as establishing a network for us to engage with others in our profession both locally and globally. These activities require considerable effort, which I would like to contribute to as a member of the Board of Management. I have become increasingly engaged with the IAM over the last several years, supporting the planning and implementation of the North America conference as well as contributing to the question bank for the Diploma exam. My previous experience as a Board of Trustees member for a non-profit organization has prepared me for the types of governance and management decisions and activities that I would need to engage in. AMCL has a longstanding tradition of providing hands-on support to the IAM, and I hope to have the opportunity to continue the tradition as a member of the Board of Management.
Service to the IAM:
My involvement with the IAM has included the following:
- IAM member since 2018
- IAM Certificate and Diploma awards
- IAM NA Conference Planning Committee 2022-present
- IAM NA Conference abstract judging committee 2023-present
- IAM Diploma question bank contributor

Candidate Statement:
I have been involved with Asset Management since the 2nd year of my professional career. This led to me becoming a full member (MIAM) in 2016. When, in 2017, the call came out to find interested people to create a chapter in Germany, this felt like the perfect opportunity to drive good Asset Management practices locally. Since that time, I have been an active contributor to the German chapter and the community in Germany. With my application I want to make sure that the German community is adequately represented, and the second Council seat is no longer vacant.
Service to the IAM:
- 2016 – Full Member (MIAM)
- 2017/2018 - Member of the founding team of the German IAM chapter
- 2018-today - Various contributing roles in the German IAM chapter (e.g. marketing/communication, internal financial auditor for FY18-21)
- 2020 – First AMP in Germany
- 2022 Translation of Certificate and Diploma question bank into German
- 2023 / 2024 – Question writer for the refresh of the Diploma question bank
