IAM
The professional body for through-life management of physical assets

Membership

The IAM offers a wide range of membership types for individuals and also organisations of every type, from commercial companies through academic and other membership bodies to government.  These are described in more detail on other pages (see the buttons on the left) and you can download a short leaflet or request a full Information Pack. Contact Us

All Members receive a range of benefits and these can be tailored to your interests and needs.  Professionals in any discipline who are involved in promoting and delivering more effective Asset Management – whether in the public, private or academic sectors should consider membership of the IAM.

The Institute is the leading body internationally for strategic Asset Management and has lead the field by leading the production of BSI PAS 55:2008, the only international standard for Asset Management.  We have recently proposed a full ISO (through the BSI).

We are developing links with communities all around the world and we are preparing to launch branches/chapters in some countries but you are welcome to join us wherever you are.  (See more about Partners and Affiliations)

Corporate Members can select the volume of discounts and other benefits they wish by choosing from Bronze Silver or Gold Memberships.  In each case, your staff will be exempted the Joining Fee for their Individual Memberships and a number of staff requiring access to member-only pages and information may register free as Corporate Nominees.  See Corporate Membership.

Individuals may join simply because they have an interest in Asset Management or to demonstrate competence and have access to Continuing Professional Development if they are actively engaged in the profession.  There are competence and experience requirements for some classes of Membership.  One of the most valuable benefits of Membership is access to networking with other professionals and discounts to high quality seminars and endorsed events from other providers.

We understand that many applicants already belong to professional bodies at some level of competence and we offer exceptional value by controlling the price of our subscriptions, particularly to Students.  See Individual Membership for details.

The IAM is an independent, not-for-profit membership organisation and Learned Society.  It is owned by the Membership, who are represented in various constituencies by the Council and control the direction and activities of the Institute.

See About Us for more details.

All Members of the IAM are subject to our Code of Conduct.
