A positive ballot result means that ISO committee PC251 will now be formed to start developing an International Standard in Asset Management.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) committee will begin work on the new standard, using BSI PAS 55:2008 as the starting point.
The decision follows a worldwide ballot, which closed in November 2009, on the ‘new work item proposal’ that was circulated to National Standards Bodies around the world. ISO Technical Management Board (TMB) Resolution 196/2009 stated:
An invitation has now been sent to the National Standards Bodies which expressed interest in participating in the process, for a preliminary meeting of PC 251 in London, on 26-29 April, 2010.
